The Parkinson’s Foundation is seeking a goal-oriented and self-motivated professional for the position of Fundraising Events Coordinator in the Midwest Region, a territory of three field Chapters that serves the Parkinson’s community across the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. This position serves as a critical member of the Midwest Regional team to oversee peer-to-peer (P2P) and third-party fundraising initiatives such as year-round Parkinson’s Champions DIY events and local volunteer-supported endurance races, and to support Parkinson’s Revolution, an annual indoor cycling event. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, executing, and managing the stewardship of third-party events. The primary focus is enhancing funding, participation, and awareness in these initiatives. This is a regional position: Applicants must be located in MN, WI, IL, IN, OH or MI, with preference given to Minnesota or Michigan.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising – 65%

o   Empower, coach, and support volunteers and participants in their fundraising efforts.

o Manage multiple markets concurrently, quickly adapting to the unique characteristics of each market and fundraising program to optimize revenue generation and community engagement.

o   Proactively pursue new opportunities to start DIY events, Revolution rides, and enhance our endurance event engagement. 

o   Achieve fundraising benchmarks for P2P and third-party fundraising programs.

Customer Service – 20%

o   Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure timely communications for event participants and volunteers.

o   Support website inquiries and offer guidance on fundraising tools.

o   Create support materials and guides to assist volunteers and participants.

o   Build strong working relationships with key volunteers, donors, and participants.

Logistics – 5%

o   Assist volunteers with coordination of event logistics and day-of-event preparation.

o   Guide volunteers and participants throughout the event process.

o   Edit program scripts, update content, and secure speakers for events.

Marketing and Communications – 5%

o   Update, customize, and create marketing materials.

o   Spearhead outreach, communications, and promotional efforts to boost event participation.

o   Ensure up-to-date event information is added to websites. 

Administrative Support – 5%

o   Engage in cross-departmental meetings, calls, brainstorming sessions, and training. 

o   Collaborate with field staff and other departments to accomplish organizational goals.

o   Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

      1-3 years of previous work experience in sales, event planning, fundraising, or other nonprofit work (preferably with P2P events).

      Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

      Self-motivated, focused, detail-oriented, and goal-oriented team member.

      Professional, outgoing, friendly, and positive attitude with the ability to relate well with diverse populations and age groups.

      Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

      Organized, timeline-driven, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

      Excellent presentation and oral/written communication skills.

      Proficient in various administrative duties.

      Capable of learning and utilizing new technologies.

      Reliable with a strong commitment to follow through.

      Previous experience with Canva is preferred.

      Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

      Bilingual (fluent or intermediate in Spanish) preferred but not required.

      Access to a phone, and internet.

      Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level, with or without reasonable accommodation.

      Ability to travel throughout the Chapter and region as needed, with reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license.

      Capacity to work evenings and weekends as needed, while adhering to core business hours.
