Position Overview: As an Event and Business Development Coordinator in a collaborative office environment, you will research, identify, and implement innovative ways to acquire new clients, working closely with the firm’s attorneys, advisors, and staff.  Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the firm's growth and enhancing its market presence through strategic business development initiatives and well-executed events.  As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a flexible and supportive work environment, once you have completed your training successfully, you will have the opportunity to work remotely one day a week.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and coordinate with practice- and industry-related sponsorships, events and memberships to facilitate the development of the practices, including post-event following and tracking lead generation.
  • Assist, coordinate, and attend business development events. 
  • Assist with the preparation of business development presentations, reports and new business RFPs and proposals.
  • Assist with the preparation and updating of practice and cross-initiative materials.
  • Maintain an accurate database of clients and other contacts to enable external communication.
  • Assist with research initiatives to obtain business from new and existing clients.
  • Assist with the development and execution of marketing/business development strategies, plans, and projects.
  • Assist with the preparation of legal directories and other rankings and surveys.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities and targets, facilitating cross-selling initiatives, and participating on client-specific target teams.


Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2-4 years of related marketing experience, preferably in a law firm.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong writing and editing skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and service orientation.
  • Commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload, stay organized, work independently and as a member of teams, and complete tasks under time pressure as necessary.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative.
  • Poise, tact and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts.
  • Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential; experience with Monitor Suite, Lex Machina, PACER, InterAction+ and Courtlink is preferred.
